Transition is the goal

From the moment students arrive on campus, we begin comprehensive transition planning for a seamless transition to their next school. Throughout a student's journey with us, we equip them with the skills to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a conventional school setting. We formally discuss this milestone in the spring before the student's final year to provide ample time to navigate the admissions process at other schools.

While the average student spends three years at 皇冠体育, each child's transition timing is personal and depends on several factors, including academic performance and input from parents, teachers, and advisors, formal and informal test results, and age and grade considerations. The transition process will be an ongoing dialogue with your child's advisor.

Our students master skills and strategies for future success. We send students to their next school equipped with and understanding of their:
• unique academic strengths, challenges and strategies to support their own learning,
• ability to self-advocate,
• critical thinking skills,
• use of technology to enhance productivity,
• executive function strengths, challenges, and the strategies they can use in various learning tasks,
• and lastly and perhaps most importantly, students leave 皇冠体育 with the confidence to succeed both in and out of the classroom

The transition process

You will meet with your child's advisor and the transition coordinator to review academic testing, current levels of performance and the specific support that your child may need. A range of schools are discussed based on your child's profile and your family circumstances. After the transition meeting, you will receive a detailed timeline explaining the process. Your student's advisor continues to be a resource for you as you pursue your child' next placement.
